March & April - Matthew Krug Foundation visits Red Clay High Schools
  • During the months of March and April, the Matthew Krug Foundation visited the high schools in Red Clay School District and discussed the AED program at each school. 
  • April 20 - Stewart Krug of Matthew Krug Foundation  reviewed Red Clay PAD program audit with Red Clay School Board.  MKF offered to continue to work with District to upgrade the District PAD program.

May  - Matthew Krug Foundation visits Brandywine School District High Schools

July - Matthew Krug Foundation Joins the New Castle County Chapter of "Safe Kids" Delaware
 
Safe Kids Worldwide is a global network of organizations whose mission is to prevent accidental childhood injury, a leading killer of children 14 and under.   The New Castle County Chapter of the "Safe Kids" Delaware coalition includes members from AI DuPont Hospital, American Red Cross, Wilmington Velocity Cycling Team, DNREC – Brandywine Creek State Park, General Motors, State Farm Insurance, and several other organizations.
 
July - Matthew Krug Foundation Joins the Healthy Wilmington 2010 initiative
 
The Healthy Wilmington 2010 initiative is sponsored by the City of Wilmington's Health Planning Council.  The focus of the Healthy Wilmington 2010 plan is health promotion and disease prevention through individual, oraganizational and community involvement.  In addition to supporting the individual efforts of the council members, the Wilmington Health Planning Council sponsors an annual Wilmington Wellness Day.

September 16 - FDA Clears The Philips HeartStart Home Defibrillator Over-the-Counter Sale 
 
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) today granted marketing clearance for the first time for the over-the-counter sale of an automatic external defibrillator (AED) designed specifically for lay users. The device shocks the heart to restore rhythm in people who are experiencing cardiac arrest.
 
The Philips HeartStart Home Defibrillator is the first and only home defibrillator available without a prescription, which means that it is considered safe and easy to use by virtually anyone to help save the life of a person who suffers a sudden cardiac arrest.
